I have a question and a HUGE favor I would like to ask. I was wondering if you might be able to use my volunteer services, or have any contacts/referrals for me? I am looking to more or less donate my time on a permanent basis, to any organization or individual that is involved in spreading the type of information that we all know is so important for everyone to see, and awaken to.
In other words, I am looking to make a difference in this ever changing world, at this very important time for humanity. I would prefer to work for a non profit organization, but at this point I would be willing to do anything that will help the world see the changes ahead.
A little about me...
I am a life educated, 48 year young single man, that has the deep desire to help make a difference. I no longer want to sit around and watch the world go by... all while humanity is sucked into the deception of today's mainstream media and manipulating governments, as most are sitting back and having a contest to see who can die with the most toys. All the while, at the same time the children in Africa (and all parts of the world for that matter) are starving to death. I just really feel the need to do what I can to help turn that attitude around...that's all.
I have no children and no ex-wife to hunt me down. No warrants or IRS bills that are overdue. I am just an honest & simple guy, with no skeletons in my closet whatsoever. The only commitment I do have is to my cat. She is a part of me, travels with me and lives where I live.
I am willing to relocate if the opportunity calls for it, as long as the location is to my satisfaction and there will be accommodations for my cat. I am willing to work (30+ hrs. a week) for nothing more than room & board and maybe a small expense allowance? If it is working with a non profit org., I could probably manage to pay for my food for a short while?
My dream would be to find a non profit org. that has it's own, self sufficient farm land with housing accommodations for the needy. One that could help both abused persons and animals, while being involved with the spreading of the knowledge of the worlds awaking, at the same time. Call it a self sufficient communal farm, that offers spiritual education and advice...if you will?
I should add that I have a few ideas of my own, that could help the causes of humanity. I would be more than willing to share these ideas with anyone who is on the same page? I'm actually VERY excited to finally get into the position to start helping others, on a large scale. I just hope I can get myself into that position, and my ideas will have a chance to help make a difference?
I'm open to any offer or opportunity that might arise. My main goal is to find a way to help, while at the same time being able to survive without ending up homeless. I'm not at all afraid to work. I just want it to be for the right purpose and for the right reason. I will do anything I can to keep from ever having to work for the "establishment", or for the "powers that be" again. Goodbye material gain...Hello spiritual gain! ;D

There are no age limitations for using our site, although users under 16 need approval from a parent or guardian. Some of the organizations that post on our site do have age restrictions for particular opportunities - so just make sure you read each listing carefully before signing up.

To find a volunteer opportunity that matches your interests try conducting an advanced keyword search (for directions, read my responses above). I recommend using words like 'animals,' 'rescue' or 'wildlife'.

I'd like to find volunteer opportunities within 20 miles from where I live. However, I'd like to filter out those volunteer opportunities that show up in my search that are for sending the volunteer to some other country. These are often multiple posts, sometimes many pages and a deterrent to finding an opportunity that may interest me. So, in my search can I filter out organizations that do not interest me?

I have been in many school programs as well, and a lot of the volunteer opportunities that i found were very beneficial for my schooling. I also love being able to post my volunteer experience on my resume, and help others within my community. A source that I have found very helpful was volunteercenter.com because they had a lot of volunteer opportunities listed in my home town.

Hi Matt,
My experience is that most people don't know what they want until they see it, and if you don't facilitate their ability to easily see it, they probably never will.
So the solution seems to be, make "Opportunity Interest Areas" the forefront, not some obscure side thing for those few people who click on the mysterious and frightening "Advanced" button.
Craigslist is ugly, I'll grant, but it works pretty damn well, doesn't it?
Step 1: Select interest category (On Craigslist that might be "Motorcycles and Scooters". On VolunteerMatch that might be "Homeless & Housing")
Step 2: If you want to further filter the search (On Craigslist, you probably would; On VolunteerMatch, you probably generally don't need to a whole lot, but sometimes you want to so it should be there just in case)
Step 3: Find what you're looking for.
Making broad-scope search the default doesn't seem to make a lot of sense for VolunteerMatch. It makes the results very often irrelevant in those many many cases when people aren't exactly sure what they want to search for.
So, my thinking it: Help guide people to their interests instead of just hoping they already know.

When I first started using the site I typed in key words that I would use to describe the type of work I wanted to do...for example I wanted to be an animal foster parent so I used word like: cats, dogs, pets, foster parent, adoption, veterinary, animal etc etc etc...
