love the new photo tool!! how do i use it?
I was listing an opportunity and saw that everyone can add photos! How do I upload a photo? And can I have more than one?

Hi Jan,
To delete a photo you already have saved into your account you will need use your Photo Manager.
On the dashboard (the screen that lists all your opportunities) click on the tab marked 'Manage Organization' and then select 'Photo Manager':
Once the screen refreshes, select the photo you want to get rid of and click on 'Replace' or 'Delete'

Photos for everyone! Photos are inspirational and help potential volunteers relate to your organization. You can upload up to five photos to your account to use in your listings. Here’s how you do it:
1. To add a new photo to a listing, select the listing in your listing table and then find the Edit link in the detail section in the bottom half of the screen.
2. You’ll be taken to the Listing Wizard where you add a picture to the listing. If you’ve used a photo for another listing in your account, you can use the same one by simply selecting if from the Choose Previous Image dropdown menu.
3. If you have less than 5 images already in use in your account, you can add a new one by clicking Add New.
4. Once you’ve selected your photo, take a look at how great your listing looks! Click Update & Next to update your listing.
5. That’s it! You’re done.Comment -

Hi Jan,

lovin' the photo tool!!
Hey guys,
Initially, I didn't have a lot of success with the new photo tool. This threw me because I think photos are really helpful when trying to attract page views on the internet.
Then I realized my problem wasn't the photo tool at all but in fact, it was the pictures I was choosing.
I was putting my organization logo everywhere until I realized that most people who use VolunteerMatch use if to get more information about organizations they don't know anything about. They have never seen our logo...and I don't think they really care about our logo....
Then I tried replacing the logo with pictures of our volunteers--we recruit adult literacy tutors. I added pictures of our tutors doing what they loved--tutoring others. VolunteerMatch lets you give all of your photos a caption so I started using things like 'Make A Difference In Someone's Life Today!' (I stole the phrasing from a webinar, sorry team!)
I started getting a lot more page views and eventually MORE REFERRALS!
Lesson learned: Forget the logos, friends! Use pictures of volunteers!!!

I'm trying to add an image for a posting. I've done this successfully before, but now the "Add an Image" link does not work--it's just text, not a link. I'm in the "Image" section of posting steps, clicking "Add an Image!" above the current image. Tried Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, same thing.

Hi Lisa,
You can access the Photo Manager within your Organization Dashboard (check out my directions earlier in this post). We allow organizations to upload five photos at a time. Once your photos have been saved into your account you can add them to new/existing opportunities in the posting step labeled 'Image'.
Typically we recommend that organizations DO NOT post logos in their opportunities. Volunteers using our website will not be familiar enough with your organization to recognize a logo. We suggest using pictures of volunteers doing the work your recruiting for.

Good question. Currently the caption function in the Photo Manager is NOT formatted to accept hyper-linked text. This would be a great Idea to post. I have merged your question here so that we can keep track of all questions pertaining to the Photo Tool.
