How do I keep old posts from being deleted from the referral report?
Hello, I have been using VM for about a year now and I only recently discovered a huge problem for me. It seems that when I delete a post I no longer need, it disapeers from my referral report. I need to provide referral information for my supervisor dating back to January and all of the posts I deleted are gone from the report! Is there anyway to "archive" posts so that they are not seen on my account page but they do not get removed from the report?

Hi Jennifer,
When you say that the information has been deleted, are you looking at your Referral and Page View report, or your Volunteer Referral report? Even when a listing has been deleted, your volunteer referrals should still be showing up on your Volunteer Referral report.
Access the Volunteer Referral report by clicking "View All Referrals" under the "Volunteer Referrals & Reports" menu at the top of the left-hand side of your screen. The first drop-down menu will allow you to access referral reports for all of your past listings, including those that have been deleted.
The Referral and Page View report will only show information for listings, both active and inactive, that are currently available in your nonprofit dashboard.
One option that might be helpful for you is to keep inactive (expired) listings on your dashboard, rather than deleting them, particularly if you think you may need to recruit for the same volunteer role again in the future. To learn more about changing the expiration date for your opportunity, check out this post: http://community.volunteermatch.org/v...
Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, it is the volunteer referrals and reports menu that I am referring to. I wish I would have known that deleting them meant that it also removed them from this report, as this is the information that I have been using to report out. I now know that I can't delete anything. This is still a bit frustrating because the dashboard gets congested and makes reposting a bit more tideous. I really do wish their was an archiving option of some sort. Overall VM is awesome so I can live with a small inconvenience.

Hi Jennifer,
That's helpful feedback for our team.
We administer a few accounts with a large volume of listings and one thing I've found helpful is using the sort tools to keep the "active" opportunities at the top of the page.
As a Community Leader, you should also be receiving monthly account summaries, which contain your page view/referral information for active opportunities. By looking back at your summaries from the past few months you may be able to track down some of the info you're looking for. Not a perfect solution but hopefully helpful.
