I want my kids to learn that volunteering can be fun. How do I find a volunteer opportunity appropriate for them?

VolunteerMatch has thousands of volunteer opportunities for people of all ages. If you are looking for an opportunity for kids or teenagers, we just made the process even easier!
-Start by clicking on 'Find Opportunities':
-Enter your Location (it is best to enter your zip code or an exact address)
-On the left hand side of the screen in the area marked 'Suitable For' check the appropriate box (kids, teens. 55+ or groups) and click 'Search.'
Scroll through the results until you find an opportunity you like and then click on the 'I Want To Help' button and we'll send your information to the organization via email.

Thank you for your feedback.
You are correct, this is a misuse of the qualifier 'Great for Teens'...I merged your question here so that we can keep track of all comments pertaining to these filters (not because I assumed you were unclear about using our tools).
I have made our Product team aware of this problem. We are currently working to fix it.

I am looking for an organization that is in need of a large group of volunteers. My company would like to dedicate one day to closing the office and having approximately 85 associates available to volunteer. We can handle small and large tasks including light maintenance, landscaping, painting, etc. if necessary.

Hello, I am a Recreational Therapist working in a Residential Treatment Facility for Children. I would like to start a group for children who wish to volunteer in and around our local community. Any advice on how to locate places that are willing to have children volunteer? Our staff would also come to be a support in order to keep the children focused and on task.

I am a Marine Stationed in Quantico, and for my company i have been tasked out to organize a volunteer effort for 30 to 50 fellow Marines. We are looking for something local with a time from of 1 to 3 days of availability. Something where we can give back to the community that so greatly supports us. Please something that is not coming up soon, this coordinating effort is going to take a some time. preferibly something that is about 6 to 8 weeks out.

I am looking for a way to introduce volunteering to my 7yr old son. While looking through your posts I couldnt find anything right for his age...we will not be hosting an international student. i was looking for something with feeding hungry or homeless, or something that had to do with putting together packages for needy children or children with cancer. any suggestions would be helpful.
