VolunteerMatch is not directly affiliated with any of the organizations which post on our site. For more specific information about an organization or an event, you will need to contact them directly.
If you've already generated a referral to the organization you're trying to reach, just refer to the referral confirmation email you received when you expressed interest in their volunteer opportunity. That email includes the contact information for that organization.
If you haven't generated a referral to the organization you're trying to reach, just go here to search for the organization in our network.
Search For An Organization
All you have to do is click on the organization's name and it will open a screen further to give you a contact person, and usually the phone number of the organization.

I am looking for the artist or the item you used to carry. I have purchased two pendants in prior years. They are sterling silver and resemble petroglyphs somewhat. A few weeks ago I took items to the Salvtion Army Thrift Store on Vine St. in Salisbury, Md. 21801. When I got there a young man came out to help me.I handed him an item from the trunk of my car then picked up a small box of items. As I walked to the building he reached in the trunk and removed a bag that contained my dry cleaning and took it to the store.( my friend saw him take the bag not knowing it was my dry cleaning) I did not relize this had happened until I got to the dry cleaners a few days later. I returned to the Thrift Store as soon as I realized what had happened. The bag contained my two winter coats and a sweater. I have gone back to the store once or twice a week since this happened but the staff hasn't sorted the coats yet.I am a senior citizen on a limited income and can not afford to replace the coats that were taken. I even offered to volunteer so I could help sort the coats. The young mans action has caused me a huge inconenience.

My name is Donna Castle. I have been an employee at MetLife, in Group Disability for over 15 years.
I recently volunteered at The Larkin Center, Eligin IL. www.larkincenter.org
The event I am working on will be held on Feb 18, 2012, a Sweetheart Auction.
We are raising money for Abused children, ages 8-18, to be placed in an 18 mo program and then returned to a healthy Foster home.
I am hoping that MetLife will be able to sponsor an ad that will go in the program, on the Site, on Facebook and Twitter and on the local radio station. Ads are for $250 or up to $2500.00 or can there be a commitment of a match for the money I raise for this event.
All monies are due by the first week of February, for me to get credit toward my goal of minimum of $650. However, if this deadline cannot be reached, we would love Met's support either way.
Please let me know the direction I should take.

I am a disabled American who has received disability benefits paid by the U.S. Social Security Administration since October 29, 1991 because of severe mental illness. I registered with the District of Columbia Rehabilitation Services Administration in the year 2005 and submitted my “Ticket to Work” to RSA. I am still seeking employment. The D.C. Court of Appeals affirmed the finding of the D.C. Department of Human Rights that my last employer terminated my employment (effective October 29, 1991) lawfully because of a determination, made by the employer in consultation with a psychiatrist, that the pressures of the work environment could lead me to become violent. Freedman v. D.C. Dept. Human Rights, D.C.C.A. no. 96-CV-961 (Sept. 1, 1998). The D.C. Government determined (D.C. Corporation Counsel) that my coworkers formed genuine and credible fears in August 1989 that I might become armed and extremely dangerous. The U.S. Capitol Police (Special Agent Steven J. Horan) advised me that I am listed on a federal registry of potentially violent offenders.
I am writing to inquire whether I have a duty to disclose facts about my potential for violence to a prospective employer under the D.C. Human Rights Act or other District statutes. I understand that the Americans with Disabilities Act permits an employer to decline to hire an individual who poses a direct threat in the workplace. While my psychiatrists do not believe I pose a threat of violence at the present time, I am concerned that the pressures of the workplace could cause me to exhibit behaviors that led to violence risk determinations in the past. Do I have a duty to disclose my situation to a prospective employer?
