Can I sign up for emails about specific types of opportunities?

As a VolunteerMatch member, you can elect to receive customized emails from VolunteerMatch. Customized Email allows you to receive weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly emails informing you of upcoming volunteer opportunities based on your personalized search criteria. Simply provide your ZIP code, a designated mile radius, and category(s) of interest, and you're set!

To sign up today, follow the steps below:

- Log into your VolunteerMatch

-Click 'Edit Opportunity Alert Preferences' under 'Manage Personal Account':



-Select your preferences and click 'Save':



You will begin to receive customized emails from VolunteerMatch within the time frame you requested.

I think it would be great if there was a way that you could save volunteer opportunities that you were interested in to a sort of "favorites" list. Then you could refer back to it later. I was actually surprised that I wasn't able to do this. =/ I also felt site was a little difficult to navigate. Would love to see clear links to FAQ and other helpful areas in obvious spots on home page. Speaking of there was no link to get back to the home page from searching, unless I missed it.

You can sign up for customized alerts and VolunteerMatch will email you when opportunities that match your criteria are posted on the site. Many individuals who use our site treat this like your 'favorites list' idea. Check out my post above for more details.

You can also check your personal referral report at any time to see an ongoing list of all the opportunities you have expressed interest in on our site. Many users refer to this report to follow up on opportunities that might have been previously unavailable. For more information, click on the following link:
